Substituted dihydro-furan-2-one compounds (I) are new. Substituted dihydro-furan-2-one compounds of formula (I) are new. A : (hetero)cycloalkyl, (hetero)cycloalkenyl or (hetero)aryl (all optionally substituted by one or more substituents of halo or alkyl which is substituted by one or more halo, -OR, -OC(O)C-R and -C(O)OR); R1 : alkyl (optionally substituted by halo); R2 : alkyl; R3, R5 : H, halo, alkyl (substituted by halo,-OR, -OC(O)OR and -C(O)OR); and R : alkyl.
