The chain has an insertion unit (1) comprising a threaded part (2) to be fixed in a woody structure of a tree. An interface module (10) comprises an engagement element, where an end of the engagement element is fixed with an object to be fixed or another interface module. Another threaded part of the insertion unit remains outside the tree during fixation of the insertion unit in the tree. The interface module comprises another engagement element, where an end of the latter engagement element is connected with an engagement element of the latter part of the insertion unit. An independent claim is also included for a fixing device.
