A method and system for transmitting stereoscopic images has a server 1 that transmits the left and right video images over separate channels of an internet protocol network 10 to a client 20. The server and/or the client have two different IP addresses and the respective channels use one of those IP addresses. The system may utilise dual projectors 25, 26 or a three-dimensional panel to receive and display the left and right video signals from the client. Also disclosed is a three dimensional display comprising an array of pixel elements and a filter mounted over the pixels to produce for some of the pixels light of a first polarisation and for others a second opposite polarisation. The light may be linearly or circularly polarised.
