METHOD FOR EVALUATING POISONOUS METAL AMOUNT IN DISCHARGED URINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for evaluating poisonous metal amount in discharged urine by utilizing conventional evaluation using DMSA.;SOLUTION: In a method for evaluating a poisonous metal amount, the poisonous metal amount in discharged urine after administering alpha-lipoic acid of a subject to whom at least the alpha-lipoic acid is administered as a poisonous metal discharge agent is measured, a measurement value of the obtained poisonous metal amount is converted into a poisonous metal amount in the discharged urine after administering DMSA when dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) is administered as the poisonous metal discharge agent by using preliminarily prepared correlation. The correlation is the one between the poisonous metal amount in the discharged urine after administration of the alpha-lipoic acid to predetermined time and the poisonous metal amount in the discharged urine after administration of the DMSA to the predetermined time. According to the method, the poisonous metal amount in the discharged urine when the DMSA is used is evaluated by using the alpha-lipoic acid without using the DMSA.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
