PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable continuous cooling of the inside of a reactor containment vessel, when internal temperature thereof rises, by suppressing evaporation of cooling water injected through a cooling coil located therein with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A reactor containment vessel internal cooling system 1 includes: a cooling coil 3 which is supplied with cooling water and cools inside a reactor containment vessel 2; a water supply channel 4 for supplying cooling water to the cooling coil 3; a drain water channel 5 for draining the cooling water from the cooling coil 3; a supply water flow rate sensing unit 8 for sensing a flow rate F1 in the water supply channel 4; a drain water flow rate sensing unit 9 for sensing a flow rate F2 in the drain water channel 5; a pressure supply unit 11 configured to allow pressure of the drain water channel 5 to be selectively supplied to the water supply channel 4 side; and a control unit 12 which receives signals from the supply water flow rate sensing unit 8 and the drain water flow rate sensing unit 9 and, when the flow rate F2 of the drain water channel 5 is greater than the flow rate F1 of the water supply channel 4, activates the pressure supply unit 11 to supply pressure of the drain channel 5 to the supply water channel 4 side.
