PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nuclear power plant that allows construction costs and running costs to be reduced, and further to provide a construction method therefor.SOLUTION: A nuclear power plant 10 comprises: a reactor building 12 for accommodating a reactor 11 that generates steam by utilizing heat generation due to fission of nuclear fuel therein; a turbine building 15 for accommodating a turbine 13 that introduces the steam and performs rotational motion and a condenser 14 that cools and condenses the steam exhausted from the turbine 13 by heat exchanger tubes 17 therein; and a circulating water system 18 for circulating sea water from ocean 21 to the heat exchanger tubes 17 by a pump P. The reactor building 12 and the turbine building 15 are installed at a ground leveling level GL. Design of a relative positional relation among internally stored apparatuses such as the reactor 11 and the turbine 13 and joined portions such as a main steam pipe 16 thereamong is standardized. An installation level 20 of the condenser 14 is set corresponding to a sea water level WL of the ocean 21.
