PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laver dehydrating member that is excellent in dehydration performance for a laver manufacturing process comprising pressing for dehydration, while being sanitary because it can be easily washed, and capable of keeping long-term running costs low, and to provide a method of dehydrating laver using the member.;SOLUTION: An open-cell spongy body of a dehydrating unit and an elastic body having compression restorability are stacked together, and a laver dehydrating member is formed by stacking together the open-cell spongy body of the dehydrating unit and the elastic body having compression restorability. Also, the thickness of the open-cell spongy body is 1/8 to 1/2 the thickness of the elastic body which is a compressible portion of the laver dehydrating member.
