PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring device that can be simply cleaned, a corresponding strand production unit and a measuring method.SOLUTION: A measuring apparatus 10 formed and arranged for measuring a strand 12 and/or a strand part transported in the transfer direction F in a tobacco-processing industry has one measuring head 13 having at least one measuring module 14 for constituting a measuring zone and a strand guide device 15. A protective tube 17 that transports the strand 12 or the strand part into a strand penetration path 16 consistently passing and extending the whole measuring head 13 and the whole measuring modules 14 in the transfer direction F and passes and extends the measuring modules 14 is arranged in the measuring head 13. The protective tube is detachably fixed, as an exchange unit, to the measuring head 13. The measuring head 13 is equipped with a nozzle unit 18 for introducing compressed air aligned in the transfer direction F into the protective tube 17.
