PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GL treatment method for efficiently suppressing elution of alkali metals from an upper GL layer, and to provide a glass lining suppressing elution of alkali metals, obtained by such a treatment method.;SOLUTION: In a GL treatment method for a glass lining having a metal base layer 2, a lower glass lining layer 3, and an upper glass lining layer 4 being an upper most layer, the elution of alkali metals from a surface of the upper glass lining layer is suppressed by bringing the upper glass lining layer into contact with (A) sulfuric acid or (B) a melt 11 containing at least one kind of ammonium salt 5, and applying a direct current voltage 10 by setting the sulfuric acid or the melt heated to 200°C or more as the positive electrode side 9 and the metal base layer as the negative electrode side 8 in such a state that the sulfuric or the melt is not brought into contact with the metal base layer so as to move alkali metals in the vicinity of the surface of the upper glass lining layer to the metal base layer side and to introduce monovalent cations in the sulfuric acid or the melt into glass.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
