PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical instrument which can surely protect a subsidiary lumen, and to provide a method for manufacturing the medical instrument.SOLUTION: A catheter 100 includes: a main lumen 20; a tubular body (sheath) 10 made of resin; a reinforcing layer 30; and a wire 91. In this case, for the tubular body 10, the main lumen 20 and a subsidiary lumen 80, which is arranged on the outer peripheral side of the main lumen 20 and extends in the longitudinal direction of the main lumen 20, are formed. The reinforcing layer 30 is arranged between the main lumen 20 and the subsidiary lumen 80, and surrounds the main lumen 20. The wire 91 is arranged on the outer peripheral surface side of the tubular body 10 relative to the subsidiary lumen 80 in a manner to surround the outer periphery of the main lumen 20. The wire 91 is embedded in the tubular body 10, and supports the outer peripheral surface of the tubular body 10.
