PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous spectrum light source capable of achieving a high speed modulation of 500 Mbps or more to perform ultra high-speed communication.;SOLUTION: A light emitting element comprises: a plurality of electrodes 12 and 14; and a light emitting part 10 consisting of graphite equal to or less than a predetermined number of layers arranged between the electrodes 12 and 14. Light having a wide light emitting wavelength range and enabling high speed modulation is emitted by black body radiation that the light emitting part 10 generates heat by energization to the electrodes 12 and 14 to emit light.
