PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method and equipment for manufacturing T-shaped steel, by which the T-shaped steel having a plurality of sizes, which are constant in the outside measurement of a web and different in the inside measurement of the web, is manufactured without preparing a plurality of horizontal rollers, which are different in the roller width, and without requiring roller replacement whenever being different in the inside measurement of the web.;SOLUTION: Rollers comprising a roller shaft 103, a fixed roller 101, which is fixed to the roller shaft 103, and a movable roller 102, which is movable in the axial direction of the roller shaft 103, are used as the horizontal rollers of a roughing universal mill for rolling the web and flange of a T-shaped steel billet. The position of the movable roller 102 is adjusted by moving the movable roller 102 in the axial direction of the roller shaft 103 so that the movable roller 102 is situated on the top side of the web of the T-shaped steel billet. Next, after adjusting the interval between vertical rollers conforming to the web height of the T-shaped steel billet so that one of the vertical rollers of the roughing universal mill is brought into contact with the movable roller 102, the web and flange of the T-shaped steel billet are rolled with the roughing universal mill.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
