PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fresh flower transporting container and a lid used for the fresh flower transporting container which always keep supplying water for water retention to fresh flower in transportation and storage to prevent the fresh flower from being dried and withering, and are transported and stored in a horizontally loaded state with no leakage of the water for water retention to outside even when falling down.SOLUTION: The container includes a container body 10 provided with an opening formed in its upper surface, and a lid 2 for holding a bundle of fresh flowers in an upright state relative to the bottom surface of the container body 10 and preventing leakage of the water W from the container body 10 when falling down. A fresh flower holding cylinder 21 extending from a top surface part 20 into the container body 10 is disposed at the lid 2 so as to retain the whole quantity of the water W in a space between the container body 10 and the fresh flower holding cylinder 21 when falling down. The fresh flower holding cylinder 21 includes a holding cylinder support portion 23 formed of a hanging surface 24, and a chamfered portion 25 formed by chamfering a boundary part between the top surface part 20 and the holding cylinder support portion 23.
