PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coating Ni aluminide capable of further enhancing peeling resistance of an AlOoxide coating under thermocycle conditions.SOLUTION: A method for coating Ni aluminide coating of a metal material includes: a step of preparing a metal substrate; an Y electrodeposition step of electrodepositing yttrium on the metal substrate surface by molten salt electrodeposition; a Ni electrodeposition step of electrodepositing nickel on a surface on which the yttrium is electrodeposited; and an Al electrodeposition step of electrodepositing aluminum on the surface on which the nickel is electrodeposited by molten salt electrodeposition in this order, wherein the depth from the coating surface to the yttrium-containing layer after the Al electrodeposition step is at least 15 m.
