PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a SCARA robot having the high degree of freedom in designing.;SOLUTION: The SCARA robot 1 has: a base substrate 13; a first arm 5 connected to the base substrate 13 rotatably around a first axis A1; and a second arm substrate 37 connected to the first arm 5 rotatably around a second axis A2 in parallel with the first axis A1 and away from the first axis A1. A first speed reducer 17 has: a first speed reducer body 29 which is fixed to the base substrate 13 for decelerating revolution of a first electric motor 15; and a first output shaft 31 pivoted to the first speed reducer body 29 rotatably around the first axis A1 for transferring the decelerated revolution to the first arm 5.
