PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broken part detection device and a broken part detection method for performing nondestructive detection of a broken part of a rooftop waterproof layer.;SOLUTION: The broken part detection device is provided with: a heat source part 10 for raising or lowering temperature of a fluid medium pumped to a leakage spot P3 or a water intrusion part P1 to a temperature different from that of a building 50; a pump part 20 for pumping the fluid medium to the leakage spot P3 inside the building 50; and a temperature measurement part 30 for measuring a temperature distribution of the building 50 caused by the fluid medium flowing from the leakage spot P3 or the water intrusion part P1 to a broken spot P2 from outside the building 50. On the basis of the temperature distribution measured by the temperature measurement part 30, nondestructive detection of the broken spot P2 of a waterproof layer 53 linked to the leakage spot P3 or the water intrusion spot P1 is possible.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
