PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of isolating an environmental contaminant decomposition bacterium from seawater, a method of decomposing an environmental contaminant due to the decomposition bacterium, and the decomposition bacterium.;SOLUTION: The isolation method includes: a filter filtrating step of filtrating seawater; a suspending step of suspending the residue of a filter in a part of filtrated seawater to make suspension; a first cultivating step of adding an environmental contaminant to a seawater medium or an artificial seawater medium as a substrate to drop the suspension on it to obtain a first culture fluid; a second cultivating step of diluting the first culture fluid obtained in the first cultivating step in a new seawater medium or artificial seawater medium to repeat a cultivating process for newly adding and cultivating the environmental contaminant as the substrate in a plurality of times; an applying step of diluting a second culture fluid in the seawater medium or the artificial seawater medium to apply it on a double layer medium; and a refining step of sampling statically cultivated bacteria until a colony confirms the bacteria applied on the double layer medium to refine the bacteria by repeating to be newly applied, statically cultivated on the double layer medium.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
