PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a therapeutic agent for HTLV-I-associated diseases such as HTLV-I-associated myelopathy and uveitides.SOLUTION: There is provided a pharmaceutical agent for HTLV-I-associated diseases such as HTLV-I-associated myelopathy and uveitides, comprising, as an active ingredient, an RAR agonist represented by formula (I) [wherein Rto Rindependently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or an alkyl-substituted silyl group; X represents -CO-NH-, -NH-CO- or -CO-CH=CH-; and A represents a carboxylate-substituted aromatic group or a tropolonyl group].
