PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a method for discriminating a gramineous plant that is short culm and late maturing by using a DNA marker in an experimental laboratory without actual cultivation; and develop a gramineous plant having two characters together, which shows short culm character based on new short-culm genes and is late maturing.;SOLUTION: The method for selecting a gramineous plant of short culm and late maturing comprises discriminating the presence of a d63(t) gene by detecting a DNA marker linked to the d63(t) gene existing in the third chromosome of the gramineous plant.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
