PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method which generate a pseudo stereoscopic image free from discomfort even from images taken with sensibility where random noise increases easily.;SOLUTION: A depth signal generating apparatus comprises: an input signal acquisition part 21 which acquires an image signal Sraw (Ssc) and sensibility information Iiso at the time of photographing the image signal; a depth estimation part 232 which outputs a depth signal DE including estimation information estimating the depth of each pixel of a screen on the basis of the image signal Sraw (Ssc); a gain value setting part 233 which sets a gain value Gn for converting the level of the depth signal DE on the basis of the sensibility information Iiso; and a depth signal level conversion part 234 which converts the level of the depth signal DE on the basis of the set gain value Gn and outputs a depth signal DEg after the level conversion.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
