PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in which a mushroom (solidified iron) in a converter is accurately detected in a short time, and further, in which presence and absence of abnormality of a blowing tuyere at the bottom is accurately determined in a short time on the basis of the detected mushroom.;SOLUTION: A surface temperature TBR(°C) of a bottom brick 3 in a furnace around the blowing tuyere at the bottom 2 in the converter 1, is measured after molten steel is tapped off, and an average surface temperature TAV(°C) is calculated from the measured value of the surface temperature TBR(°C). Then, a position, at which the measured temperature T of the surface temperature near the blowing tuyere at the bottom 2, satisfies T≤TAV-α to the average surface temperature TAV of the bottom brick 3 in the furnace and a preset threshold value α(°C), is determined as the mushroom 4.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
