PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Sr ion collector which efficiently and inexpensively collects radioactive Sr.SOLUTION: A highly ordered mesoporous silica (HOMS) produced from an organosilicon compound and a surfactant is caused to support an Sr ion-adsorptive compound such as DTDR, which selectively adsorbs strontium (Sr) that is a target element. The HOMS which has supported the Sr ion-adsorptive compound is brought into contact with a solution in which Sr is dissolved to selectively adsorb Sr ions on the Sr ion-adsorptive compound supported by the HOMS. The HOMS supporting the Sr ion-adsorptive compound which has adsorbed Sr ions is chemically treated to isolate Sr ions as the target element from the Sr ion-adsorptive compound supported by the HOMS, whereby Sr is recovered. The HOMS supporting the Sr ion-adsorptive compound from which Sr ions are isolated can be reused. The HOMS supporting the Sr ion-adsorptive compound can be used also as an Sr collector, a concentration detecting sensor, and a radioactive strontium removing agent.
