PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device and a method of selecting an index number of sequence numbers for printing, which can automatically carry the index number 19 of the sequence numbers without requiring an operator to be aware of a carrying operation, especially when the sequence numbers are printed.;SOLUTION: An index ring 32 of a low-order digit (first digit) and an index ring 32A of a high-order digit (second digit) are mechanically integrated so as to rotate together only when a carry is produced. A printer includes a carry/borrow projecting table part 31 which is formed on a frame inner wall face 14A, and a corotation connecting mechanism 33 which faces the carry/borrow projecting table part 31 along with selective rotation of the index ring 32 of the first digit, circumferential connection recessed parts 34 are formed on the side face of the index ring 32A of the second digit so as to face the corotation connecting mechanism 33, and only while the circumferential connection recessed part 34 is connected to the corotation connecting mechanism 33, the index ring 32 of the first digit and the index ring 32A of the second digit can rotate together integrally.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
