PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material expected to develop a function as a binder as well as have an effect as a silane coupling agent, when a composition is prepared which contains a compound containing a functional group and an organic group having reactivity.SOLUTION: A succinic anhydride group-containing cyclic organosiloxane is represented by formula (1), wherein Ris an alkyl group or an aryl group; Rs are an alkyl group which may have a substituent selected from a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a vinyl group, an epoxy group, a thiirane group, a (meth)acryl group, a mercapto group, an iso(thio)isocyanate group, a hydrolyzable silyl group, a succinic anhydride group, a perfluoroalkyl group, a polyether group and a perfluoropolyehter group, and in Rs, one or more Rs uses the hydrolyzable silyl group as the substituent, and two or more Rs uses the succinic anhydride group as the substituent; and n is an integer of 3 to 6.
