PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a proper heat level by making the first powdery solid selected from the group consisting of a catalyst and an absorbent contact the second powdery solid the particle size of which is smaller than that of the first solid in the presence of a gas in a container. ;SOLUTION: Into a place in the container of a furnace, in the presence of a gas, a first powdery solid selected from the group consisting of a catalyst and an absorbent is introduced together with a second powdery solid comprising alumina of a minimum size of the first solid, silica, magnesia, sand, a mixture of these, and the fine particles of these catalysts gradually and periodically or continuously so that both solids are brought into contact.
