PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method and an evaluation device for evaluating an operable period of plant equipment, which is applicable to equipment on which little knowledge on deterioration is accumulated and equipment on which a parameter on deterioration cannot be measured.SOLUTION: An evaluation device evaluates a failure timing of equipment on the basis of failure data of the equipment, selects calculation steps of failure provability depending on the failure timing, calculates integrated failure provability on the basis of the equipment failure data using the calculation steps of the failure provability, sets a maintenance level as a threshold value corresponding to the integrated failure provability, and defines a period up to the time when the integrated failure provability reaches the maintenance level as an operable period.
