PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a right-left air flow direction control device capable of suppressing vibrations of right-left deflectors caused upon frontward air blowing, and to provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner with the right-left air flow direction control device.SOLUTION: A right-left air flow direction control device 100 includes right-left deflectors and connecting rods. Each right-left deflector 10 includes: a base portion 13 defining a flat plane perpendicular to the center A of rotation of a rotation shaft 11; a planar portion 12; and a connection protrusion 15 disposed on the base portion 13. A connecting rod 20 includes: a rod extension 22 which is formed on one side edge 21d of a rod 21 so as to correspond to the position of a connecting hole 25; and a contact raised portion 23 which is formed along the edge of the rod extension 22 and is higher than the rod. Upon frontward air blowing, a portion of the connecting rod 20 near the connection hole 25 is held by the connection protrusion 15 while being prevented from separating from the connection protrusion 15, and the top of the contact raised portion 23 and a portion near the other side edge of the rod are each in abutment with the base portion 13, and thereby, the connecting rod is subjected to bending deformation.
