PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersant for polymerization that can be suitably used for producing a vinyl chloride-based resin having a high bulk specific gravity, to provide a process for producing a vinyl chloride-based resin using the dispersant, to provide a vinyl chloride-based resin and to provide a molded article of the vinyl chloride-based resin produced using the dispersant for polymerization.;SOLUTION: The vinyl chloride-based resin is produced by dispersing a vinyl chloride monomer or a monomer mixture including the vinyl chloride monomer in water using as a dispersant a modified polyvinyl alcohol having a bond unit of an alkyl maleate with a viscosity at 20°C of its 4 mass% aqueous solution of not less than 30 mPa s to less than 400 mPa s and an average saponification degree of not less than 75 mol% to less than 90 mol% and carrying out suspension polymerization.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
