PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of surely oscillating an S wave inside any one of the ground surface or a boring hole. PSOLUTION: An oscillator 1 with a pressure-fit part 5, mounted on a rod 9 projected from a vibrator 3, is put in the boring hole 23 and the oscillator 1 is moved to a predetermined position. A movable arm 7 of the pressure-fit part 5 is then extended, and the oscillator 1 is fixed inside the boring hole 23. The vibrator 3 is vibrated, to rub the pressure-fit part 5 against a wall of the boring hole 23, thus generating the S wave. The oscillator 1 is constituted, such that the rod 9 can be reciprocated by a super-magnetostrictive element 15. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
