PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, method and software for information retrieval accompanying of concept-based retrieval and ranking.SOLUTION: To improve a retrieval engine based on a traditional keyword, an inventor of this invention contrives software which uses a system, a method and a word co-occurrence probability not only to identify a document relating conceptually to a user query but also to calculate a score of a retrieval result for ranking. One illustrative system uses a given query to connect inverse document frequency retrieval to concept retrieval to be used to detect a document remaining undetected if not so on the basis of the word co-occurrence probability. The illustrative system further enables ranking of a retrieval result based on both keyword matching and concept existence, and promotes more efficient organization and review of the retrieval result.
