PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-electrode submerged arc welding method of steel materials which is suitable for pipe-making welding of large diameter steel pipes such as UOE steel pipes and spiral steel pipes.;SOLUTION: In the submerged arc welding of steel materials for performing a both side one layer welding with three or more electrodes, the current density of a first electrode satisfies the expression (1), the current density of the rearmost electrode satisfies the expression (2), and the current of the first electrode and of the rearmost electrode satisfy the expression (3): (1) DL≥220 ; (2) 80≤DT≤120; and (3) IT/IL≥0.50; where DL is the current density (A/mm2) of the first electrode; DT is the current density (A/mm2) of the rearmost electrode; IL is the current (A) of the first electrode; and IT is the current (A) of the rearmost electrode, wherein the current density is a value for which a welding current is divided by the cross-section area of a welding wire.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
