PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide antibodies that are specific to or have a high affinity for CD38 and therapeutic and detection methods using the antibodies.SOLUTION: Uses of an isolated antibody or a functional fragment thereof specific for CD38 is provided, wherein the isolated antibody and the functional fragment thereof includes a specific sequence, and a pharmaceutical composition containing the isolated antibody and the functional fragment thereof and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient for a pharmaceutical composition is administered to a subject in need thereof. Using this method using the isolated antibody and the functional fragment thereof, hematological diseases such as multiple myeloma can be treated.
