PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater foundation and an installation method thereof, by which a relatively small-scaled appliance, facility, or the like used underwater, for example, a flowing-water utilizing micro hydroelectric power generation apparatus can be easily underwater installed, even under environment of a flowing-water state such as a river.;SOLUTION: In an underwater foundation having fixing means for fixing an appliance or facility 2 used underwater in a river and the like and an installation method thereof, the underwater foundation has a floor panel 11 consisting of a concrete board or steel frame structure board on which the appliance or facility 2 is mounted; a belt-like elastic member 12 is provided around a lower part of the floor panel 11; a bored part 14 with a bore hole bored in a water bottom ground 4 is provided below near each of at least four corners of the floor panel 11; rod-like or tubular reinforcement members 15 are disposed in the bored parts 14, respectively; and a fluid material 16 which can be hardened underwater is injected into and solidified, hardened, and integrated with clearances of the bored parts 14 and a clearance enclosed with the floor panel 11 and the belt-like elastic member 12 together, thus enabling the floor panel 11 to be fixed to the water bottom ground 4.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
