Clock recovery circuit using a phase comparator and the phase comparator

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase detector which can highly accurately detect a phase of a zero cross point between reception data sampled by a clock. PSOLUTION: The phase comparator includes: a timing discriminator which generates a discrimination signal comprising a logic corresponding to a first data value of first reception data and a second data value of the second reception data; a first zero cross extractor for extracting first phase information, which is obtained by interpolation calculation from a sampling time and the first data value of the first reception data and a sampling time and the second data value of the second reception data, relating to a phase relation between a first zero cross time and a clock; a second zero cross extractor for extracting second phase information, which is determined using increment of the data value per unit time based on the first data value and the sampling time of the first reception data, relating to a phase relation between a second zero cross time and the clock; and a selector for selecting either the first phase information or the second phase information in accordance with the logic of the discrimination signal.
