PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a search omission area setting function generation method for achieving efficiency of object search.;SOLUTION: A search omission area setting function generation method includes: associating a template for searching an object with a designated search point on each of model reduction images whose size rates are different; detecting designated search point similarity between the designated search point on each model reduction image and the template; detecting peripheral search point similarity between each of a plurality of peripheral search points in the periphery of the designated search point on each model reduction image and the template when the designated search point similarity exceeds an object detection determination threshold; estimating the relative position of the object and the template on the basis of the distribution of the peripheral search point similarity; and generating a function for setting the search omission area of the object on each model reduction image on the basis of the estimated relative position.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
