PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire detection system for a granular metal capable of accurately detecting occurred flames and the possibility of fire breaking and also effectively extinguishing occurred live coals, a fire detecting device using the system, and a fire extinguishing method for the granular metal using the device.;SOLUTION: A fire detection system includes infrared ray detection means, ultraviolet ray detection means, fire breaking determination means connected to those detection means, and alarm means. The detection means independently and severally detect infrared rays and ultraviolet rays emitted from a detection object which is continuously transferred on a transfer line. The fire breaking determination means determines presence/absence of fire breaking by analyzing a detected signal and operates an alarm device in the case the presence of fire breaking is determined by the detected signal from either of the detection means. Also a fire detection device operating the fire detection system and a fire extinguishing method for a granular metal using the fire detection device are provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
