The present invention provides: a modified peroxidase enzyme gene which can produce a peroxidase having stabilized quality by a gene engineering technique with high efficiency; and a method for producing a peroxidase using the modified peroxidase enzyme gene. The present invention discloses: DNA which is characterized by comprising (A) the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 10 or (B) a nucleotide sequence having a 90% or higher homology with the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 10 and encoding a protein having an activity of a peroxidase enzyme; a recombinant expression vector and a transformant each carrying the DNA; and a method for producing a peroxidase using the transformant.
