PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quickly identifying a Salmonella serovar by multiply detecting genes specific to the Salmonella serovar. PSOLUTION: At first, the genes specific to the Salmonella main serovar (Salmonella Typhimurium, Choleraesuis, Enteritidis, Dublin and Gallinarum) are comprehensively extracted in silico (on computer). Subsequently serovar specificities of the extracted genes have been investigated by using 3,700 isolated wild-type Salmonella strains. As the results, it has been found that the genes specific to the Salmonella main serovar are present and the Salmonella serovar can be discriminated by using the genes as indices.
