PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an apparatus by reducing the size of a reactor, and to greatly improve operation rate without requiring a step where a reactor is removed to take out COfrom a carbon dioxide adsorbent.SOLUTION: In a hydrogen production method, a mixed solution is prepared by mixing alcohol, water, and potassium carbonate (a step 1), the mixed solution is heated (a step 2), dryness of wet steam is controlled so as to be a value within a predetermined range (a step 3), and alcohol vapor and steam are reacted with each other in wet steam having the dryness within the predetermined range to produce hydrogen (a step 4).
