PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep information density constant irrespective of regions when information is provided for each region.;SOLUTION: A regional name extracting device 1 includes: a user input receiving section 11 receiving, from a user, input of a category and a regional range from which position information is extracted; a position information extracting section 12 extracting position information of facilities on the basis of the received category; a position information thinning section 13 performing thinning of the position information of the facilities; an area creating section 14 creating, on the basis of the position information of facilities which are not thinned, a plurality of areas for the regional range received by the user input receiving section 11; a regional name extracting section 15 calculating the size of each of the plurality of areas and selecting and extracting regional names from a POI (Point of Interest) information DB 21 on the basis of the calculated size of the areas; and a regional distribution map creating section 16 creating a regional distribution map by using the regional names.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
