PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new alkaline earth metal hydrogen phosphate useful as a raw material to be used for producing an alkaline earth metal hydrogen halophosphate phosphor having a large aspect ratio and a columnar shape, a method for producing the alkaline earth metal hydrogen phosphate and the phosphor obtained by using the alkaline earth metal hydrogen phosphate.;SOLUTION: The alkaline earth metal hydrogen phosphate is shown by general formula: SrxM(1-x)HPO4 (wherein M is one or more elements selected from alkaline earth metals other than strontium; x is a value satisfying 0.3≤x1.0). The particle of the alkaline earth metal hydrogen phosphate has preferably the columnar shape and each of the particles accounting for ≥90% of total particles has preferably 2-20 aspect ratio.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
