PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately calculate a music difficulty level by considering various elements constituting music. PSOLUTION: A CPU 11 calculates individual difficulty levels for a plurality of elements (fingering, rhythm, and tonality) necessary for performing music based on pitch information, fingering information and time information in music sound data, multiplies each of the plurality of calculated difficulty levels by a weight coefficient, and calculates the overall difficulty level of the music by accumulating the weighted difficulty levels. The CPU 11 optimizes the weight coefficient so that a correlation is largest between a music difficulty level calculation value calculated based on the individual difficulty levels and a difficulty level evaluation value of the same music by a specialist, the evaluation value having been given to the music beforehand.
