PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron oxide removing method for a circulation pump in a secondary system of a pressurized water type nuclear power plant capable of removing scale when necessary during operation of the pressurized water type nuclear power plant, suppressing an increase in operation cost and securing the soundness of the plant. PSOLUTION: The iron oxide removing method for a feed water pump 31a in a secondary system 5 of the pressurized water type nuclear power plant 1 can produce a comparatively strong reducing atmosphere within the feed water pump 31a for a limited time according to the condition of iron oxide adhering to the feed water pump 31a for feeding water in the secondary system 5 of the pressurized water type nuclear power plant 1.
