PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which can diagnose a resource, while sharing an interconnecting means under operation, before the resource is incorporated into operation, at the time of addition/exchange of the resource, and to provide a diagnosing method and a program therefor. PSOLUTION: An information-processing system incorporates a resource, which in turn is added or exchanged on line, into a diagnosis partition P1 to conduct prior diagnosis and then incorporates the resource into an operational partition P0. In this case, during a diagnosis operation, the diagnosis partition P1 comprises: a diagnosis-exclusive I/O card 35; a diagnosis-exclusive cell 15; and at least a diagnosis-object cell 12 separated from the operational partition P0 and then incorporated, or a diagnosis-object I/O card 33 accompanied by an I/O bridge 23 having thereinside a memory mapped I/O space or an I/O space for diagnosis.
