PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To range a short-distance object with high frequency, while having a wide measuring range by a single sensor.;SOLUTION: A system includes a transmitting element for transmitting an ultrasonic wave to an object, a driving circuit to output a driving signal to the transmitting element, a receiving element for receiving a reflected wave from the object, and a signal processing circuit for detecting a distance to the object by a signal from the receiving element. The signal processing circuit forms a transmission wave based on a plurality of transmission patterns, and calculates the distance to the object based on correlation between the plurality of transmission patterns and the signal from the receiving element.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
