PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-diagnostic device for an acceleration or angular-velocity sensor, for performing exact self-diagnosis even when an impact is applied to the acceleration or angular-velocity sensor from the outside during self diagnosis. PSOLUTION: The self-diagnosis device 10 for an acceleration sensor 1 includes a diagnostic control part 13, an integration operation device 11 and a determination part 12. The diagnostic control part 13 provides dummy acceleration or angular velocity to the sensor body 8 for detecting acceleration or angular velocity by applying a dummy acceleration signal 14 of a predetermined magnitude to a sensor body 8 for detecting acceleration or angular velocity. The integration operation part 11 performs integration operation of a sensor signal 17 output from the sensor body 8 in response to the dummy acceleration signal 14. The determination part 12 determines whether or not an integration value 18 is within a predetermined normal range when a predetermined integration time elapses after start of the integration operation.
