PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resolution optimizing device, a resolution optimizing method, a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus or an MRI apparatus, and a program therefor for facilitating optimization of resolution. PSOLUTION: An operator 200 enters a value of an imaging field of view FOVx and a value of echo time TE. The values entered by the operator 200 are assigned to a relational expression of the echo time TE representing the resolution Xres, a bandwidth BW, and an imaging region FOVx, and as a result, a relational expression established between the resolution Xres and the bandwidth BW is defined. In addition, since (n) values BW1-BWn which are used as the bandwidth BW are stored in the bandwidth memory part 108b of a memory 108, resolution Xres1-Xresn corresponding to BW1-BWn is calculated by assigning each of BW1-BWn to the relational expression. The maximum resolution Xres is detected out of the calculated resolution Xres1-Xresn, and a bandwidth BW in obtaining the maximum resolution Xres is displayed in a display part 106.
