A method for detecting chronic liver disease is provided comprising : measuring the concentration of autotaxin in a human specimen by an immunochemical measurement method using antibody, and judging to be a chronic liver disease in the case that the measured value exhibits a significantly higher value than normal values comprised of measured values from normal healthy subjects.
