PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a white LED which maintains a high luminance, and is excellent in its color reproducibility, and further, reduces the variation of its luminous chromaticity; to provide a manufacturing method of a back light using the white LED; and further to provide a manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display. PSOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a white LED has a process for coupling to each other previously an ultraviolet-ray emitting diode or a violet-ray emitting diode, and three or more kinds of visible-ray emitting phosphors. The luminous spectrum of the white LED has peak values in a blue portion having wavelengths not shorter than 440 nm and not longer than 460 nm, in a green portion having wavelengths not shorter than 515 nm and not longer than 530 nm, and further, in a red portion having wavelengths not shorter than 620 nm and not longer than 640 nm.
