PSOLUTION: The method includes (1) a process of separating an organic waste comprising a liquid and a solid fraction with the liquid fraction not containing necessary amounts of nitrogen sources to grow methane fermenting bacteria for an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket method into a solid and a liquid fraction, (2) a process of subjecting the separated solid fraction to a methane fermentation treatment, (3) a process of subjecting the methane fermentation sludge obtained by the process (2) to a solubilization treatment and an ammonia removal treatment, and (4) a process of subjecting the liquid fraction obtained by the process (1), the ammonia removed by the process (3) and, if necessary, the solubilization treatment product to a methane fermentation treatment by the upflow anaerobic sludge blanket method.
